For the players and fans of TLAF-Liquid`, the IPL TAC is probably the darkest memory in almost two years of competitive Sc2. All-killed by SaSe in the opening round, then nearly blanked by ReIGN in the losers bracket, and coming off of a disappointing series of performances in the string of October tournaments, the mighty Liquid` of old looked obselete on those days. The loss led to a long thread bemoaning the team's fall, and a lot of negativity among Liquid` nation.

Of course, hope would come again, as HayprO put together a cinderella run to the final eight at MLG Providence, and HerO won Dreamhack Winter. When, sprawled across a hotel bed TLO spoke about HerO exorcising a lot of negativity and bad results for the team, he was speaking about IPL TAC. The pall that this event had cast over the team was lifted.

But that does not mean that there isn't still work left to be done.



Tonight, Liquid` will return to the IPL TAC, looking for redemption. This is not a goal that will be achieved in just one match, nor does it need to be achieved by winning. The most important result is one that the team and the fans can be proud of, a result achieved after everyone has given it their all. Individual championships are great, but it's teamleagues that are the most important for a team that is often compared to a family.

For Liquid`, IPL TAC2 provides a second chance at proving that together, the team is stronger, not weaker, and that the team both has the depth, and the aces to succeed in all team competition. Liquid` is already off to a 2-0 lead in the NASTL, and in the IPL TAC, it's important to take that energy and those good results, and build them into a positive cycle. For this match, the team has been taking the opponent seriously, preparing for the best opponents on coL.MvP, even though, with the new year holiday season in Korea, it's unlikely that the Korean half of coL.MvP will show up. But regardless of the result, Liquid` is more motivated than ever to show good results for the fans, erase the memory of the first IPL TAC, and to make this a performance to be proud of.
