Tonight, there are two major sports events to be played, and while we all know the New York Football Giants are going to mop the floor with the New England Patriots so that there won't even need to be a second half, there's a much more epic battle to be waged between two storied rivals in the NASTL.

We're only three weeks in to the NASL Teamleague, but things have been building to this for a while. In the first week, Liquid` erased memories of the IPL TAC 1 all-kill at the hands of Quantic by beating them 3-1. In the second week, Liquid` went up against Mousesports, the team that has had all the teamleague success that has eluded TL. A thrilling five series set later, and Liquid` emerged victorious. But these were all pseudo-rivalries; small grudges set off by just one or two small instances.

Against EG, there's more. Quite a bit more. As a defender of all things good and bright in the world, it's natural that Liquid` should be opposed to the Evil Geniueses. But after multiple HerO vs PuMa finals, the acquisition of HuK, and serveral high-stakes meetings in clanwars, there's no excuses here. EG must be defeated.





The history is in Liquid`s favor, but it's not as good as it looks. In their GCPL meetings, Liquid` and EG are 2-2 overall, but Liquid` has won both regular season meetings. Unfortunately, that means that EG has won both meetings in the playoffs, something that will have to change this season. I(If EG makes the playoffs, of course! ^^) But for the moment, the focus is on this match, and Liquid` fans can be forgiven for feeling pretty confidence. With a 2-0 start in NASTL, a first round win in IPL TAC, HerO winning IPL FC, and TLO taking the Heat Charity tournament, Liquid` is on a roll, and isn't going to be stopped by an EG team that's had a week as bad as ours has been good.

Thanks to the awesome match-up sniping of TL manager Bumblebee, all the Liquid` players have their favorite match-ups. But unlike vs Mousesports, where the whole team is curiously weak to zerg, all of these match-ups happen to be the favorite one of the EG player as well, with the only exception of IdrA vP. So this is truly a match of strength vs strength. Tonight we'll see who's best is the best.

Ok, we know many of you will probably be watching the Super Bowl, but there's no reason to not catch TL vs EG between the commercials, and especially no reason to miss the EU rebroadcast, which airs midday tomorrow in the US. Liquid` Fighting!
