Don't look now, but Liquid is back on a roll in the EG Masters Cup. After an unfortunate loss to Fnatic, the boys in blue responded in a huge way by sweeping the hosts and then fending off a fiesty ROOT squad. The two wins put Liquid in a commanding 5-2 position for the season, in third place overall, and with our playoff destiny firmly in our own hands.
This week, Liquid faces off against one of the many teams that sit just below the cut, and are hungry to get in. Quantic has brought out the big guns and we've responded in kind. Tonight's match should be a close and bitter fight, with plenty of exciting starcraft to watch!

Both teams have fielded Korean-heavy line-ups for this crucial match. For Liquid, a loss here puts the team in tricky territory; we might need other teams to lose for our playoff hopes to be fulfilled. For Quantic, the stakes are even higher. The Big Red can't afford many more losses if they're hoping to make the playoffs. There are less and less games on the schedule, and with teams like Acer taking care of business, it's more important than ever to bank your wins when you can get 'em.

Quantic.GoldenThankfully for Liquid, we've got a top line that's favored against nearly anybody. Sea has gone 3-1 for Liquid in his EG MC matches, and he draws perhaps the simplest assignment in Quantic's lone non-korean entry, DdoRo. TaeJa faces off against Golden in a trickier match-up. The zerg has been playing well lately, going 4-1 in EG MC matches for his team. TaeJa's wrists are hurting recently, and we've been trying to give him as much time off as we can, but this match was simply too crucial to leave him out. Still, his early exit from Code S was concerning, so this is a dangerous match.
HerO will face off against Apocalypse, who's a player beloved by this writer, even if his results have been severely disappointing. He's still a good and tricky player, however, so HerO will need to be on his guard. Finally, TLO takes on TheStC, in probably the only match that does not favor Liquid. TheStC is unquestionably Quantic's best player. As good as TLO has played recently, the Korean terran holds the edge in this match. A TLO upset however would give TL a huge advantage right out of the gate.
Are you ready for tonight's pivotal match? You'd better be, because it's not going to wait for you.
Liquid Fighting!
