Our match against Team Eight showcased the skill of the Liquid side of EG-TL, but this week's battle against STX showed that our partners and rivals are getting dangerously powerful as well. With HerO falling in the opening PvP, JYP, Jaedong, and (most notably) ThorZaIN tacked on wins, and TaeJa felled the STX ace Bogus to give Liquid a 3-3 record heading into the final match of round one!
Now, we are matched up against SKT Telecom 1, the legendary Korean team of Boxer, iloveoov, and recently Bisu and fantasy. This may not be the best team in Sc2, (or, given their second place position, perhaps they are close) but it's the head we'd most like to collect. For many of us, SKT T1 was the big bad wolf for years and years in proleague. Defeating Bunkie's best will send a big message about EG-TL heading into the next round and the new year.
Zenio is back in the line-up and will lead off on Planet S against Sacsri, a player who is firmly in the middle of the pack. Zenio won the only ZvZ he's played in proleague this season, defeating RorO. He should be comfortable in this match-up, and once again as the table setter for EG-TL. In the third slot is TaeJa, who gets a break from getting the other team's ace, but not a break from TvT. After beating Bogus and BaBy in his last two matches, his TvT confidence should be high against yeOngJae, who has struggled in Sc2 and is known principally for this.
The task of beating SKT T1's ace falls to HerO this time. He won against Flying but lost against Dear in his proleague PvP's. Now, he faces Rain, a player who has had his number in their past meetings. They play fifth, so it's possible that we don't get to see this game, but there's no doubt that it'd be a tremendous PvP, and hopefully one where HerO can regain his edge against this particular opponent.

Can EG-TL do it? After a 0-2 start, finishing on a 4-1 streak would be a tremendous improvement and exactly in line with what we hope for this team. A 3-2 finish wouldn't be so bad either, but there's something about that winning record in the round that would make the team's effort and performance much more meaningful.
Let's do it.
EG-TL Fighting!
