El NeXo becomes Liquid Heroes team

LucifroN | VortiX | Blackscorp
GranPkt | FalcoN

Today's announcement marks a new chapter in our Heroes of the Storm adventure. I'm excited to finally share that we have picked up the all-Spanish team formerly known as El NeXo. The team consists of five talented players in Blackscorp, GranPkt, FalcoN, LucifroN, and VortiX. I am honored to welcome them to Liquid.

Although I am obviously glad to have everyone on board, I do want to use this as an opportunity to talk about the Durán brothers in particular. Their names should be familiar to many of you due to their long and prosperous careers in Starcraft 2, and I can safely say that I have always been an admirer of their play. I hope that everyone can understand the special attention that I pay them as I believe that this is significant move for Team Liquid. They have extremely keen minds for strategy games that I have had the pleasure of experiencing first hand: I still have some nasty memories of LucifroN's fast expand into 3 rax marauders, which happened to claim me as one of its first victims in the beta.

Even though our paths rarely crossed, throughout the years I've felt like these two could have easily become Liquid players had things lined up a little differently. I had always hoped to make this thought a reality, and when we decided to expand our reach with a Heroes of the Storm team, the opportunity to finally work with these players was one that I wholeheartedly embraced. I look forward to what this team can accomplish with an abundance of talent and brotherhood to back it up.

For those who have not been following the developments in Heroes of the Storm, a short recap might be useful. After BlizzCon, we would have liked to continue with the team we had. Unfortunately, several members of the group wanted to play elsewhere and with new teammates. We decided that the discontinuation of the roster that represented us at BlizzCon was the best option for everyone involved. Today, we are back in the game.

Thanks to all our fans that continue to support us and we hope that everyone will join us in welcoming our new team.

When I lost motivation in Starcraft 2 I thought I would no longer be able to have the same passion for competing in a game again but Heroes of the Storm definitely brought back the competitive VortiX that I was few years ago. I started to play with 4 other Spanish players that had the same competitive attitude and we quickly started to win tournaments. We've recently had to make some changes and ended up with the group you see today. The attitude and the competitiveness in the group is awesome and we set ourselves the goal to be one of the very best teams in the world.

When we first heard that Team Liquid had interest in our team we were extremely excited. Given our Starcraft past they are one of the organisations that we respect the most. We know how hard and how well they work and we're really happy to be a part of it. We'll make sure to work as hard as we can to fulfill the expectations and stay at the very top of Heroes.
