All good things must come to an end

September 28 2015
Very few occasions will ever be more fitting for the phrase "all good things must come to an end". Today, we bid farewell to KoreanDJ after 18 months of working together in Smash. I have gotten to know him as a kind and smart guy, and what I have admired most about him is his insatiable drive and dedication to become good at what he loves. Unfortunately, injuries disrupted what should have been another great year for KDJ, and he has made the difficult decision to retire from competitive play. We would have wanted to keep him on the team regardless of his playing status, but he has decided that moving on entirely is necessary for him to find closure. We bid farewell to a great friend and one of the most admired stories in Smash history, and he leaves behind a legacy that can be rivaled by so very few. We hope that he will approach his life after Smash with the same passion that he showed during our time together.

We picked up Smash in March of 2014 and we have not regretted it for a second since. KDJ has played a big part in a scene that continues to grow after 15 years, and we will always cherish what we were able to accomplish with each other. This amazing game has given us the opportunity to work with equally amazing people. Thanks, KDJ, for being a part of Smash and Team Liquid.

It is with a heavy heart that I will be officially leaving Team Liquid. It has been an honor and a privilege being in an incredible and supportive team. The loyalty and support from the managers and from Victor have been the best benefit of being on Team Liquid. I am forever grateful for the love and support of my fans even when I was struggling with my injuries. It truly meant a lot to me. Unfortunately, it is time for me to put an end to my Smash career as the progression of my injuries renders me unable to participate in tournaments. For me, leaving the team is the only way I can find closure in this up-hill battle. Team Liquid has been the pioneer of introducing the Smash community to the world of eSports, and I am forever grateful for it being the spark that made the scene grow to the scale it has become now. Though I will be leaving the team, I will always be a loyal supporter of Team Liquid.

Dota 2   Race to the Finish Line: Earth Spirit vs Puck There were a lot of wild plays at the Chongqing Major, but none so wacky as GH’s Earth Spirit embarking on The Great Escape during Liquid’s match against Vici Gaming. GH forced Vici to keep chasing him all the way across the map and while Ori eventually caught him, it made us wonder, “Who would win in a race between Puck and Earth Spirit?” We answer that question with maths.

StarCraft 2 | League of Legends | CS:GO | Smash | Street Fighter 4 | Dota 2   Digital Darlings: Love Letters to the Pros For the beloved characters in our games, no one is more attractive than the pros who control their every move over 8 hours a day. And how could they not? This is the ideal male form, this is what peak performance looks like. If only they could speak (or write an email), they’d be able to share all the things they admire about our players. Fortunately, we can speak for them.
Smash   The Ultimate Puff Tier List If Puff is the best character in Smash, then the characters most like Puff are the best in Smash. But how do we figure out a character's Puffhood? We have you covered as we take a needlessly mathematical approach in creating The Ultimate Puff Tier List.
